UNEC mentoring is a small project set up in 2014 by the Alumni of the law class of 1991, Faculty of Law University of Nigeria .
once a year a selection of 12- 15 final year law students join the programme for a minimum period of 6 months .
The students are engaged in practical events and activities to improve their employability skills and personal development all delivered via electronic media / internet .
The students connect with the mentors who live and work world wide The mentors engage in talks and useful chats on improving and preparing the students for life and work after university.
The mentors support the students as they make decisions that could affect the student for the rest of their life..
The in -country mentors also afford the students the opportunity to intern in their law firms.
The support ranges from talks by Law professors , top lawyers who are future employers, civil servants , professional coaching , Project preparation, mental and emotional support , Upgrading CV's, interview preparation and support from young lawyers sharing their personal experiences and ideas.
As well as the opportunity to shadow lawyers at court.
We are doing a 5 Mile charity walk on the 24 / 25 June 2017 to raise funds to buy one piece of computer equipment that will enable even more students join our international learning events and online activites whilst on the campus.
