My name is Hailey Batchelor, I am 15 years old with a huge passion for helping people and contributing towards making the world we live in a better place. I have a dream to help those in need and to support charities all around the world with the amazing work they’re doing.

I have decided to focus my attention at present on two particular charities, one of which is very close to mine and my families heart, and the other which provides care, help and resources to those in need across the world.

I recently come across an advert sponsoring Unicef a charity which is to advocate for the protection of children’s rights, to help meet there basic needs, and to expand their opportunities to help them reach their full potential. Unicef operates in 190 countries across the world offering life saving food, nutrition and clean water. They also offer vaccinations, relief in emergencies and protection from violence.

I began to read up on this charity and all of a sudden I wanted to help these inspirational families and I wanted to show my support to those who play an active role in such a commendable charity.

My second charity I have decided to offer my services to is Addenbrookes neuroscience department, in which my own mother spent 2 weeks in last January after suffering two brain aneurysms. She is still in receipt of treatment from the hospital now and ongoing support in which has contributed greatly to her recovery. The neuroscience department offers expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients with complex neurological disorders and head injuries.

I have decided to start fundraising for these charities and I will by doing several activities to do so.

I will be taking part in a sponsored run in which I will run from Letchworth town centre to Hitchin town centre alongside my sisters and partaking family. I have no previous running experience so this is an amazing, yet scary venture I will be embarking on.

The money raised will be split between Unicef and Addenbrookes hospital. More details will follow on my Facebook page and I will keep all of those interested updated on my progress. Any donation at all is much appreciated and will be going towards two amazing, giving charities.
