UGCY’s Future
University Gospel Choir of the Year (UGCY) is an annual competition that aims to bring together talented individuals through music! Backed by the Mayor of London and the former Higher Education Minister- David Lammy and Inspired by the 1993 blockbuster classic ‘Sister Act 2 – Back In The Habit’, UGCY is a voluntary organisation providing an unprecedented platform for University Gospel Choirs across the UK to develop and showcase their gospel musical abilities. It is an annual competition that aims to bring together talented and diverse individuals through music, encouraging them to strive for excellence and exceed their own limitations, whilst inspiring the young and old in all walks of life.
This year being our 10th year of activities, we have focussed on celebrating how far the Lord has brought us, creating a platform for choirs from universities across the UK to showcase their God-given talent while encouraging them to strive for excellence in their craft. We have curated phenomenal experiences where testimonies are birthed and lives are transformed. There are a lot of projects we work on centered around the youth and universities. You can read a lot more about these and many more about us on our website (http://www.ugcy.co.uk/).
We have had a pretty tough couple of years and this is why we need your help to be able to continue the amazing work we are doing. These projects include: University Gospel Choir Festival; sound engineers, videographers, photographers, musicians, guest artists, Choir workshops and many other projects.
Stand with us as we continue with all the work we do in supporting these choirs and youth. As Tesco says, every little helps, so whatever you can give to help us in our endeavors would be greatly appreciated.
