Story
UBBC are hosting their annual 12 hour Ergathon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham on Friday 20th March. 50% of the donations will be going to the QEHB trust and the remaining 50% to UBBC to raise funds to improve our beginners fleet.
Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham is one of the largest single site NHS hospitals in the UK with more than 1000 beds. The mission of the trust is to support medical research and improve the healthcare for patients and their carers.
We have chosen QEHB as the QE is a local hospital to us, so many of our members have been treated there. As well, several of our members who do medicine have had the opportunity to work there and experience the life as a doctor. We feel extremely passionate for this cause as we see first hand the work every member of staff puts in to ensure all patients are cared for.
This year we've set ourselves the target of rowing 500km because the emergency services receive 500 calls every 30 minutes- meaning in our 12 hour Ergathon, they will have received at least 12,000 calls.
We would all be extremely grateful if you were kind enough to donate as we want to be able to support the trust as much as we can and show our gratitude for what they do.
Thank you,
From all at UBBC
