Story

University of Chester Rowing Club are currently raising money for BUCS Regatta 2019, the biggest university rowing competition of the year. As a club UOCRC has had a rough year financially, due to low member numbers and also various problems with equipment, which has often meant that money has been used in maintenance rather than to enter races and to benefit our training.

BUCS Regatta is the biggest and undoubtedly the best weekend in the university rowing calendar, set out over 3 days from the 3rd-6th May at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham, it is a great experience for university rowers, both beginner and elite to experience six-lane racing alongside all the other university clubs in the country.

We have a range of abilities within our club, ranging from novice to senior however due to our minimal funding this often means that only a small number of our members get to train and race throughout the year. We hope that with this money we can therefore take more of our members to BUCS this year, so that we may showcase the great potential that we have as a club and set up a good foundation for the coming year.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated, thank you for taking the time to read.

*EDIT* After reaching our target of £200, we have decided to up the amount to £500, if we reach this we will be donating 30% of the proceeds to Cancer Research.
