Story

We are raising money to support the members’ hardship fund of the University and College Union branch at University of Nottingham. We are currently taking significant Industrial Action as ongoing job losses continue. We have been holding rallies, picketlines, teach outs and other solidarity events to say NO COMPULSORY REDUNDANCIES.

Why we strike

Some numbers:

293 staff exiting via MARS between summer 2024 and January 2025

3900+ Administrative Professional and Managerial staff receive letters of Notice of risk of Compulsory Redundancy in April 2025.

351 staff exiting via VR between July and October 2025 in the wake of the threats of Compulsory Redundancy

55 staff remain under the immense stress of processes to chase a Suitable Alternative Employment role in October 2025.

And this is just Phase One of Future Nottingham.

Phase Two will see Academic Research and Teaching staff, and Technical staff come under threat - draft propsals indicate a SIGNIFICANT reshaping - that's REDUCTION - of academic subjects. Areas of expertise will be lost. Livelihoods will be lost. And APM staff currently working with academic Schools will face centralisation and MORE JOB CUTS.

We plan to raise £10,000 to help support our members to fight these ongoing job losses.

JustGiving will never sell your details on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, I will withdraw funds directly. It's the most efficient way to donate and saves time and costs.
