I've raised £500 to fund postal costs to provide bereavement packs to U.K. hospitals for babies born too soon. In memory of Bobby on his 10th angelversary.

Upon Butterfly Wings was founded in October 2011 by Lucy in memory of her first born son Bobby, who was born too soon at 22 weeks in July 2009.
It would have been Bobbys 10th birthday this year (November 4th) but instead it will be his 10th angelversary on July 3rd. In memory of him - the reason UBW was founded - we are holding our first ever fundraiser.
Bobby was kindly dressed in a tiny tabbard which had been hand sewn by the family of a member of staff at the hospital. He was initially wrapped in a blanket but this was removed from him before burial to be used on another baby and the hospital did not have a hat small enough for his head. They simply did not have the stock at that time.
UBW receive in thousands of donated knitted, crochet and sewn outfits, gowns, hats, booties, teddies and more from volunteers all over the UK.
These are matched up and made into full bereavement packs, which are then posted out to hospitals, mortuaries, funeral homes and childrens hospices all around the UK, to be used by the parents who sadly find themselves in the same position Lucy was in 10 years ago. Our packs are suitable for babies born from as little as 12 weeks gestation, to those to are sadly stillborn and all the way through to those who pass away whilst in the neonatal unit.
As a non profit organisation, UBW is funded from Lucy's personal wage and by the few generous general public who donate to our paypal account when they can. All of the money donated and funded, is spent on postage and packaging and literature which goes in to every pack.
Every little helps to go a long way.
Thank you xox
