I've raised £500 to help the Up on Downs charity continue their fantastic work supporting and advising families of those who have Down Syndrome.

Up on Downs is a parent run organisation that supports families of people with Down Syndrome.

I started volunteering with Up on Downs when I was a teenager and it was truly eye opening. I learnt that Down Syndrome was not something to be afraid of and that people with Down Syndrome are pretty much the same as everyone else.
Doing this volunteer work with the charity became invaluable, when in September 2016 I gave birth to my beautiful Harry, who ended up with a postnatal diagnosis of Down Syndrome. Through some stroke of fate, luck or whatever you want to call it, I was blessed with this amazing child and I was able to process the information that he had Down Syndrome without it being such a shock. I understood it. I knew where I could go for support. Most of all, I knew everything was going to be ok.
Up on Downs works with families like mine every single day, but now they need us, and you, to help them. The charity desperately needs donations, or it is at risk of no longer being able to run. Many existing families will lose their support and their networking opportunities and many more new families won't have know where to turn when they give birth to a child with down syndrome.
Please help this amazing charity continue their work. To quote that huge supermarket... every little helps!
