I've raised £5000 to Urban Nature Education Centre specially designed for children & adults with additional needs within Central Scotland

Firstly I would like to say a massive thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read why we are crowd funding and what your money will be helping support.
My name is Sean Carr and a few years ago I set up an animal Assisted therapy company in central scotland. For the past year I have been in the process of opening Central Scotland's first Animal & Nature Education Centre created specially for children & adults with additional needs.
The past year we have have many draw backs and let downs but I am happy to announce Urban Nature is finally happening and we will be located within Williamson's Garden Centre, Broxburn.
We have raised some money but need to raise just a little more to get us off the ground and to be able to help us reach so many families & organisations within Central Scotland that would greatly benefit for our centre.

What therapies will be on offer:
All our counselling and social emotional development programmes are built around the use of Animal Assisted Therapy and Animal Assisted Play Therapy techniques.
Many children and young people are apprehensive about the idea of going for traditional therapy/counselling and are worried that it may be a scary or unpleasant experience. Together with our animal partners we seek to change that perception. We endeavor to make therapy fun which helps our clients feel more motivated and engaged in the therapeutic experience. This in turn results in better therapeutic outcomes for our clients.
We use Animal Assisted Therapy(AAT) and Animal Assisted Play Therapy(AAPT) in conjunction with elements of:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Experiential Therapy
Solution Focused Therapy
Urban Nature provides clients with a calm, protected space and a supportive environment, in which you can begin to allow new experiences in reconnect with nature and really benefit from the healing power of the garden.

Urban Nature also helps teach self sustainability. Our goal is to help others learn the importance of Animal Maintence, responsible agriculture and natural growing techniques. Every person can have a green thumb! Healthy food is an important part of us being able to thrive; it all starts with our soil and growing techniques. Everyone is welcome to learn how to have their very own garden so that they can provide for their families as well as others. Nature is big part of our future: even on a small scale. We truly believe that working with animals and nature is therapeutic in all aspects and we hope to continue to bring our community together through what we teach.
