This is a plea .. We have been made mugs out of in buying our first home! In what should have been the best time of our lives, we are having one the worst experiences.
Having saved for all our lives, and having not worked for a couple of years approx. 10 years ago due to illness, which again, was funded privately through my savings, in July, we got the keys to our first home - having wiped out all of our savings just getting on the property ladder, as we did not qualify for any government schemes, our journey began.
We paid, for peace of mind, a home buyers survey which identified minor issues to correct before we moved in. However, we got the keys over 3 months ago and we have a house we can not move into. Fundamentally, the surveyors failed to identify that the rear and side extension is falling away from the house. Having investigated this, at a further cost to ourselves, it transpires there are no foundations what so ever. Its being held up by tarmac and chalk! Someone is to blame ... is it the surveyors? or solicitors?
Either way, we have pursued both avenues, incurred additional costs for architects to prepare drawings to knock down and rebuild as this is our only option, surveyors, loss adjusters, solicitors - the list is endless.
Despite this, no one seems to be liable!

We are paying rent and bills in temporary accommodation, and bills and mortgage on a property we probably wont be in until March / April next year! Yet no one is responsible for this?

So, here we are, with no funds available, and now facing costs in excess of £50,000 to knock down and rebuild part of our home. On top of this, we have all the additional fees and expenses mentioned above. I know it is a long shot, but its a desperate plea, to see if any one is willing to help us. We can not obtain a loan for these amounts, and have literally nothing more. Not everyone scams people so I am hoping that you can dig deep and help a couple in need! However little, every bit helps!
