    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Uthan has been overwhelmed by the generosity, love and support for this project.

You helped has achieved our initial target of £2,000 in under 24 hours.

Thanks to you we will be running our annual Sangeet Retreat this year and help many youngsters grow and develop their art and personal skills.

In response to this, we are now aiming to achieve £5,000 which will enable us to sponsor students for future retreats and develop our outreach projects further.

Hi, we are Uthan - a not for profit organisation that has a solid track record of organising the UK’s most inclusive Indian classical music retreats for budding musicians.

Unfortunately, the COVID -19 situation has imposed restrictions where we have had to limit the recruitment in this year’s sangeet retreat. To date, this project is self -funded and Uthan have not received any kind of public/grant funding . Despite having 20 participants this year, we are still at a shortfall of £2,000. The Sangeet Retreat is something that our teachers and participants look forward to all year and we are not in a position to cancel the retreat due to binding contracts with the venue that was booked in 2019.

We are not going down wi thout a fight! Therefore, our plea is for you to support this project so that this work of 15 years continues for many years more. The Sangeet Retreat has been responsible for much more than learning Indian classical music. Many of the soft skills that simply cannot be taught are experienced at this retreat. Due to the loving , supporting and vibrant energy of the retreat, here are some of the many benefits as a consequence of partaking in this project:

    - A loving and vibrant atmosphere – a sense of belonging

    - Confidence building

    - Objectivity and goal setting

    - Cultural awareness – Guru Shishya Parampara

    - Discipline

    - Expert tuition /guidance

    - Gurukul style learning/environment

We thank you for having faith in this project. It has enriched the lives of countless individuals and we want this to continue.
