I've raised £2000 to the Ken Webster's Diabetic Foundation

In memory of our loving and courageous brother Ken Webster...
As most of you are aware Ken Webster was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the young age of 13, where he led a full and plentiful life until the age of 38 when unfortunately he contracted gangrene in his left toe that later led to the amputation of his left leg. Over the next 14 years, 7 strokes followed along with kidney failure which meant that in the end Ken had to be subjected to harsh kidney dialysis three times a week.
Just one of these ailments would have been enough for most of us to endure but Ken demonstrated a love for life, a true strength of character and a sheer dogmatic attitude to just keep on going through all the pain, anguish and uncertainty.
Sadly our brother Ken passed away on Tuesday 6th February 2018, as a result of contributing factors linked to type 1 diabetes. For those of you who are not aware Type 1 diabetes is caused by the immune system destroying the cells in the pancreas that makes insulin, leaving the body without enough insulin to function normally. Diabetes is a silent killer that just keeps on chipping away and will not stop until it takes every last bit of you. It's a devastating disease to be subjected to and that is why we have to try and find a cure for it.
When Ken was expressing his final wishes he asked if we could set up a just giving page to raise awareness and funds for the Diabetes UK Charity to try and help them find a cure for this cruel disease that took his life.
Ken also requested that instead of flowers at his funeral he would prefer friends and family to make a donation, which you can do via his just giving page.
Unfortunately we were unable to save Ken, but let's try and help others that are living their lives with this painful and punishing disease. Let's work together to try and find a cure for Diabetes once and for all.
Thank you
