    Story

The Parish Church of St Mary Magdalene is currently undergoing much needed refurbishment. It will have a new chancel and altar along with new electrics and heating. The Church has always been very important in my life and especially recently when I lost my wonderful husband, the love of my life, my soul mate after 49 years. My faith and St. Mary's are still carrying me through this difficult time in my life and I want to try and raise some money to pay for this essential reordering which is costing a substantial amount of money. I didn't want to jump out an aeroplane and so I decided I would do what I do best... work and be with people so I am going to work for half a day in 20 shops and business's in Clitheroe. I asked around the shop owners, told them what I intended to do and was amazed with the enthusiasm and support which they gave me. So for my 'workathon' I will be serving breakfast in a local hotel, being a waitress in cafes, shampooing in a hair salon, pulling pints in a pub, selling shoes, gifts, cards, gents clothes, furniture, electrical goods and much more. I will take photos of each adventure. It will take me several weeks, and I am asking you to please sponsor me whatever amount of money you can afford for each shop I work in or alternatively just donate whatever you like. Please help me to see my Church finished so that once again we may kneel at the altar to take communion and pray in warmth and safety. Thank you

I've now completed nineteen of my workathons but I'm now doing an extra two by request, I'll be sad when I've finished. My £500 target has now reached over £1000 thanks to the generosity of the Town businesses and their customers and of course my sponsors. The Church is nearing completion too and is now nice and warm. I can't thank you all enough it's been amazing and if you agreed to sponsor me now's your chance. Thank you
