Weʼve raised £1,595 to install a memorial bench on Richmond Green for Valerie Boyes, Historian and Teacher and Founding member of the Museum of Richmond

    Richmond, Greater London
Funded on Saturday, 15th May 2021

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

Valerie was a great friend and champion of the Museum of Richmond. Her support, energy and expertise will be greatly missed. To celebrate the life and work of this remarkable woman, the Trustees of the Museum of Richmond are fundraising for a memorial bench, which will be installed on Richmond Green, in the heart of the community Valerie loved and for which she did so much for.

If we exceed our fundraising target, any surplus will be used to support the workshops for schools and families at the Museum, which Valerie, as a historian and teacher, was greatly passionate about.

Thank you so much to every one who has supported us. We are delighted to announce that Valerie's bench has now been installed on Richmond Green! The Museum Team, along with Valerie's husband, Grahame, and Museum Trustee and Friend, Rose, went along to visit it last week and raise a glass to Valerie. If you would like to visit the bench, it is on the side of the Green nearest the Theatre and the Little Green
