Story

The cladding on both Cypress Place and Vallea Court has been assessed as failing to meet fire safety standards. The freeholder, Pemberstones, have taken us to a Tribunal on June 13th to determine whether the leasehold owners of the flats are liable to pay for the costs of the replacement cladding works, fire wardens for Vallea Court and their legal costs, all of which totals in excess of £3m. This will be collected via our service charge.

This page has already raised money for legal advice in relation to our submission to the Tribunal. All donors will be included as respondents in our submission up to the point when the Tribunal return their verdict.

Leaseholders are also making claims on their Zurich 10 Year New Home insurance policies, but it remains to be seen if these are rejected on the basis that the development met building regulations at the time (although you will see from the press that this is a very confused picture).

In the event that the Tribunal rules against us and that Zurich do not pay out, money raised from this site will be used for any additional legal support, campaigning activities to raise awareness of our plight in the wider press and ensuring that the original developer LendLease understands that we beleive that ultimate responsibility rests with them to make things right.

Please be sure to include your name, apartment number and whether you are in Vallea or Cypress in the message text, so we can track your contribution.

If you are a leaseholder you can find up to date information on our progress by joining our Facebook group at : https://www.facebook.com/groups/1777299875909714/
