Story
Running for Wigan 10K
Valley Brass is a small (but growing) brass band based in Haydock, St. Helens, in the North West of England. Promoted to the 2nd section in 2017, our aim is to become a better band as a whole whilst becoming better players individually.
The band was founded in 1992 when Musical Director, David Chadwick, came to the realisation that there were not enough musical services for young children in the area. This is when Valley Brass Band was born.
We are based at the old Richard Evans Primary School in Haydock. The building allows us to run local community evens and a music school for children every Saturday. The upkeep of the building is funded by jobs and engagement and collecting at Christmas.
Band members James Hooton and Christian Teasdale are participating in the Wigan 10K on the 3rd September. We aim to raise money for the band to help with the upkeep of the building and improving the facilities for band members.
