I've raised £470 to help Student Nurse Vanda to care for sick pilgrims in Lourdes.

Every year, thousands of catholics travel to Lourdes to visit the grotto where the Virgin Mary appeared to St Bernadette and caused water to spring up through the ground. The water from this spring is said to have healing powers, and so many sick people go to bathe and drink from the waters of the spring. Many of these people need nursing care in order to be able to make the trip, and rely on volunteer nurses to assist them during their trip. As a second year student nurse I have been offered the opportunity to go and make use of my skills. I am raising the money to cover my travel and accommodation costs. I started my nurse training because I wanted to make a difference to people's lives, and I would love to be able to support these patients to take this trip that means so much to them.
