Story

Inspired by the incredible Captain Tom Moore and his foundation, Volunteer Centre Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde have decided to join in on the #CaptainTom100 challenge. This challenge is being held from Friday 30th April to Sunday 2nd May to commemorate Captain Sir Thomas Moore, to celebrate his legacy and his 101st birthday.

The money we raise will be donated to 2 charities, Blackpool Food Bank and Fylde Food Bank. These are both amazing and important charities that play an essential part in feeding residents across Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde when they are struggling to provide themselves with enough food to eat. The past year has really taught us how vital charities and organisations like these two are. To support residents and families when they really need it is something we feel really passionate about and we know you do too. The foodbanks run on acts of kindness and this is where we all come in!

Collectively our team is going to walk, cycle, run, wheel, etc 100km. And some other team members are going to do 100 different kinds of activities. We are going to document our success on Strava to make sure we hit (and hopefully succeed) our target!

Please donate to our page to support the Food Banks. Even £1 can make a big difference.

Captain Tom Moore's simple message of hope “Tomorrow will be a good day” is the heart of this fundraiser and is motivating us to raise as much money as possible to make sure tomorrow will be a good day for all.

Thank you for reading and your contribution!!
