Vectis Radio is a community radio station based in Newport, Isle of Wight. The objectives we have, based around our key objectives, are to be distinct and different from other offerings in the area, be accessible by the people and be radio for the people. To that end, our philosophy is to be accessible to all and we pride ourselves on the varied ages and abilities of our presenters. The Isle of Wight has an exceptionally strong community spirit and Vectis Radio connects with that in a number of ways. To keep operating, we need to be fundraising constantly, and large chunks of funds are required to meet our legal requirements. One of these is our Ofcom Licence which is around £600 per quarter.
