Our company, Winchester Hardwood Flooring Ltd, has been manufacturing floors in Ukraine for over 20 years, meaning we have a close connection with current events. From Kyiv, our Friend Michael has sent us a request for help; to supply two second-hand 4 x 4 vehicles to help assist his friends. As the conflict escalates, the use of unreliable vehicles is posing an increased threat to lives. Earlier this year, before the main flair-up in Ukraine, Michael also took it upon himself and sponsored his friends with a vehicle which he had converted for ambulance use.

We have recently bought and funded the first vehicle at the cost of £4000.00, which will be delivered to Ukraine by volunteer drivers in the coming weeks. This journey will be entirely self-funded as the volunteers are covering their own costs of subsistence including flights home.

Michael himself has also contributed £2000 to the cost of the first Vehicle, which is a considerable amount of money for him to afford considering the current climate in Ukraine. We will be making a substantial contribution alongside another flooring company Michael deals with in Dublin "Flooring Design ltd". The second vehicle we are looking into currently is predicted to cost around £4500 - £5000.

We estimate that to deliver each vehicle, it will cost roughly another £1000 for fuel, crossing, road tolls and insurance etc.

At the moment we are looking at a shortfall of £3000.00 to £4000.00 to make this work.

We know that many people and companies are struggling at the moment but even a small donation sum of £50 towards the fuel costs alone would be a great help and would be appreciated massively. Obviously, if you can give more, that’s even better. Any amount no matter how small will help our cause.

These are the guys we are helping. Michaels's VW ambulance saved a lot of lives. Died itself this March in Mariupol during one of the rescues. The 4 x 4's are for rough terrain rescues in rough weather to come.

ASAP 34. legendary paramedic Taira and her partner. She was captured this March in Mariupol during rescues of civilians, spent more than 3 months in a Russian prison and then exchanged.

Another truck safely handed over, four generators, drone parts and very tightly packed blankets, coats and warm clothes. This vehicle will be on the front line in a day or so saving more lives. Tougher drive out this time with some hairy moments on the final leg of 200 miles in snow. All very gratefully received. Many thanks to all our supporters and donations to make this happen.
