📢 Vet Bill Update – Why Your Help Matters More Than Ever

At the end of our recent JustGiving appeal, our outstanding vet bill stood at £2,955.00 – the majority from the care of Ethel and Ernie.
Since then, even with no new cats coming in, our special needs sanctuary cats and those already in rescue have needed ongoing care. From 1st July to 31st July alone, our vet costs reached £3,419.79. When we rang today, the bill had already risen to over £4,000.
Thanks to your incredible support, we’ve been able to pay a large part of this off 💗 – leaving our current balance at £1,610.24. But with Elan’s upcoming swab, possible scan, and Clemmence’s vaccinations, neuter, and microchip still to come, our bill is likely to climb again to around £2,000 very soon.
💔 July alone saw:
Cookie & Frosting – neuter, chip, vaccinations

Abigail – first vaccinations
Elan – treatment and stool sample
Hanson – urine sample & tests
Special gastric food when we ran out
Ernie – hospitalisation, ultrasound, treatment
Elvira – spay

Clemmence – first vaccinations
August so far has already included:
Abigail – second vaccinations (due very soon)
Clemmence – second vaccinations, neuter, hernia repair, microchip (upcoming)
Hanson – swab and possible scan (upcoming)
Ongoing care and treatments for special needs sanctuary cats prone to infection
Many of our sanctuary cats, such as Elan and Hanson, are prone to infections due to birth defects, possibly linked to low immunity from interbreeding. They require ongoing, often costly, care to keep them well.
We also have Jess, who needs a sterile room and a nebuliser for her long-term care. If we use the funds set aside for Jess to cover the vet bill, we lose the chance to give her the safe environment and vital equipment she needs.

💔 This is a large reason why rescues across the UK are being forced to close. Increases in vet bills have hit us hard, and we are really noticing the difference. There are very few rescues in Mid Wales, and almost none in our immediate area. Our closure to new cats has already left a huge gap, with local cats missing out on help and nearby rescues having to widen their areas to an unmanageable level.
As a non-profit, we rely entirely on our own money, friends, supporters, and the small amount of profit from our pop-up shop. We’ve now launched another JustGiving in the hope of paying one more large bill with your help.
With no new cats coming in and new sponsorship opportunities for our sanctuary cats, we should be able to stay open as a sanctuary and carry on caring for our special needs residents. The thought of rehoming them is too much to bear – this is their forever home. 🏡❤️
🐾 Every donation, share, or sponsorship means the world to us and to the cats who depend on us.
From all of us – whiskered and human – thank you. ❤️🐱
