Story
The Veterans Garage, we are a registered charity (no: 1069359) that directly supports our NHS, Fire Service, Police & our Armed Forces. We offer support in terms of counselling which is held on site, social events to tackle social isolation & can assist with emergency housing, priority debt & sport recovery for the sick, injured & wounded. We host 90% of our activities, drop in centres & treatment on site. A site open to the public as a cafe where 100% profit funds the charity, obviously as you can imagine being closed due to COVID-19 this will hit us hard but we still remain here to help.
We currently are running events online, counselling online & even workouts ran online for those wanted to remain fit. We have though since COVID-19 seen a huge rise in NEED by our blue light services who have been attacking the COVID-19 outbreak, this has seen us need to provide more counselling sessions & support for them which we are aiming to raise more money for.
We still need your help to survive this pandemic. So please donate when and where you can.
on #GivingTuesday we took part in several events listed below:
Alex Halliwell deadlifted 100kg - 500 times in under an hour
Craig Monaghan - climbed the height of Everest on the stairs in a single day
Carl Bumby - A serving soldier cleaned & pressed 100 times in under an hour whilst deployed in Cyprus
