Story

The veterinary diagnosis could hardly have been worse. This gentle sweet natured dog, with a zest for life has disc and hip problems. I asked my vet, if I found the money to fund treatment for August, did he feel that would be a kind fair course of action.  Yes he said, he would happily refer  August to Fitzpatrick's, adding that August is otherwise super friendly fit and well.
August, in truth rescued me. He inspires me, despite everything, he stays right by my side and gives me motivation to get up each morning, the confidence to leave the house and not least he gives me his unconditional love.
With the generous support of his donors and us saving hard, we have put £1000,  enough  for August initial consultation at Fitzpatrick's on 9th December.

Today 9th Dec 2019, the decision was reached that surgery was no longer an option. However, Jo. Has referred August for intensive physio with Julia Martin their referral physiotherapist, this coming Wednesday 11th
August, In his past life was not treated kindly.  He came into my life  when I was grieving for my previous shepherd Skyla. Call me soft, but I'm sure Skyla sent August to me. Every single penny donate will be spent on August and whatever treatment he needs and deserves.
Please share with your friends and if you are able donate, every penny helps. Follow his story on fb Saving Awesome August
If we are lucky enough to exceed our target all remaining funds will be shared between German Shepherd Welfare Fund where we rescued him from. And one pound 2 rescue.
Physio and hydrotherapy, I'm sure will have August dancing in ths daffodils come the spring. Even if it is with the aid of go faster wheels.

Bless you all My friends and thank you reading August story and for your generous help, support and understanding. Those of us who have loved lost and loved again, know in our hearts that our pets are so much more than "just a dog". They are family.
