Story
💙“Imagine you have cancer again, and again, and again. That’s what it’s like to have VHL”. Our amazingly brave daughter/sister in law has been diagnosed with this horrendous disease. Through this page and our “flowers & fizz” event we are raising funds for the sufferers of VHL💙
Last December Charli LeBlanc Lawton found out she had two brain tumours (Henry and Henrietta), after brain surgery in January of this year it then came to light that she suffers from a disease called VHL (Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome). VHL is a hereditary condition associated with tumors arising in multiple organs. Tumors include hemangioblastomas, which are blood vessel tumors of the brain, spinal cord, and eye.
Charli will have to live with this disease for the rest of her life, incurring numerous operations as well as being in pain daily. It is not yet known who of Char’s biological family are effected, there is a 50% chance her daughter will also have VHL. If you have met Charli you will be blown away by her outlook on life, her strength along with her inner and outer beauty.
This disease is so unheard of that we had no clue what it was and that is why we are putting on a fundraising event “flowers & fizz” to raise awareness of the disease and funds towards the sufferers of VHL. If you can share Charli’s story it would be appreciate, if you can donate to this page, even better.
There is a video link on the page. Please watch it to learn a bit more about my amazing sister in law 💗 note- you will need a tissue 😢.
