Story

Yorkshire-based quartet Vibe-ology has been attracting interest over the past year for its unique blend of vibraphone led jazz, blues, Latin and funk music. The band is comprised of John Settle on vibes, Al Morrison on guitar, Bob Birch on Hammond organ and Joe England on drums. Between them, they have played with The New Mastersounds, Dread Supreme, Haggis Horns, Martina Topley-Bird, New York Brass Band and many more.

Vibe-ology has played many different local venues, from small, intimate jazz clubs to larger, dance-oriented bars. The band has proven to be a hit with a wide range of audiences.

We have been asked on quite a few occasions whether we have a CD. After a year of playing together, and with a few jazz festivals booked over summer, we think its time to record a debut album.

The material will be a collection of classic jazz, blues and rare groove from the fifties and sixties. It will also feature guest appearances from one of the countries top musicians, Stuart McDonald, on saxophone and flute.

We're also fundraising for a charitable cause.

A good friend of ours was recently diagnosed with motor neurone disease. She is only in her mid forties and has a husband and 2 small children. There is no cure for the disease nor is the cause known. One of the few comforts for anyone who suffers from MND is to know that there is funding to carry out research.

We plan to fund most of the recording ourselves but any donations will be a 50/50 split. Anyone who donates will get a mention in the CD as personally funding the recording. Furthermore, for every CD we sell, we will donate £2 to a charity for MND from the sale.
