Story
Sarah & Vicki, both teachers at Bedfield Primary School in Suffolk, will be walking the 50km Lake District Ultra Challenge on 10th June starting in Kendal and ending by Lake Windermere. We will be warming up by walking the 28km Thames Night Path Training Walk on 15th April. Having never undertaken an event like this before we have begun quite a rigorous programme of training which we hope will help us make it to the end!!!
We are raising money for both Bedfield Primary School, Suffolk and Addenbrookes Haemophilia Centre, Cambridge.
Bedfield School, www.bedfieldschool.co.uk is a small-scale school set in a rural location with a family feel. We are raising money for much needed resources to inspire learning for our pupils. The children at Bedfield will be holding a crazy hair day to raise money for both causes.
Addenbrookes Haemophilia Centre, https://www.cuh.nhs.uk/our-services/haemophilia-centre/ is an incredible care centre dedicated to providing specialist care to adults, children and their families diagnosed with Haemophilia A, Haemophilia B, Von Williebrands Disease, acquired haemophilia and other rare forms of inherited clotting disorders. Vicki's wonderful dad was diagnosed with a combination of illnesses in 2019 which involved care from both cardiologists and haemophilia specialists. He sadly passed away in November 2022 after contracting Endocarditis whilst receiving experimental treatment to potentially stop re-occurring bleeding. The team at Addenbrookes provided exceptional care and unstinting support. Dad wanted to make sure their services were recognised and this is a way of saying thank you!
