Story

❤️ kian's Story – Help Us Give Him the Comfort He Deserves

Our beautiful boy Kian was born with a rare, terminal brain condition called Lissencephaly. It affects every part of his life. Kian cannot walk, sit up, speak, or show much emotion — but he can smile, and that smile is what keeps us fighting for him every single day.

Kian faces more challenges than any child should. He has daily drug‑resistant epilepsy, dislocated hips, and no mobility, meaning he relies completely on his mum to carry him everywhere. As he grows, this is becoming harder, and we can see the discomfort in his little body. It breaks our hearts to watch him in pain, especially when moving him from his bed to his chair. His brothers and sisters see it too, and it’s devastating for all of us.

We have been fighting for years to get Kian the support, equipment, and suitable housing he needs — but we keep hitting walls. Even Kian’s hip surgery was refused because our home isn’t suitable for his recovery needs. We feel like we’re constantly battling, constantly begging, and constantly being ignored.

Despite everything he goes through, Kian still smiles. He loves being outside, watching the trees and the world around him. But his NHS pram is no longer suitable — his head bounces, his body isn’t supported, and he is clearly uncomfortable. No child should have to experience that, especially not a child who already suffers so much.

A specialist company assessed Kian and recommended a Hoggi Rehab Buggy, designed to keep him safe, supported, and comfortable. It would transform his daily life. But the cost is £7,500, and as parents of five children, this is something we simply cannot afford.

This is our last resort. We don’t know how long we will have with our boy.All we want is for Kian to experience comfort, dignity, and joy for however long he is with us.

Kian deserves that.He deserves so much more than we can give him alone.

If you can help us reach this goal — whether by donating or sharing — you will be giving Kian something priceless: comfort, safety, and the chance to enjoy the world he loves looking at.
