Story

Mountain Devils Challenge

Back in June 2003, a bunch of friends succeeded to climb Huayna Potosi mountain (6088 m) in La Paz Bolivia in aid of the victims of the landslide which destroyed the mining town Chima in the same province.

This time, and after 12 years, some of the original members of the pack will take the challenge to climb the majestic Ilimani (6438 m) with two tangible important purposes:

1. Raise awareness of climate change and its devastating impact on glaciers of the Andean chains

2. Rebuild the toilets facilities of Yumany, a small community school, based at the heart of the Titicaca Lake – the island of the sun.

Why

Simply because we only have one world and it is our utmost duty to protect the environment while we still can.

Based on the uncontested evidence of scientific reports, the Andean glaciers are melting rapidly with disastrous consequences to the environment.

We can only do what it is our hands to help to slow down this irreversible process and hand over a healthy planet to our future generations.

How

The challengers will complete the task by summiting Illimani and the proceeds of the charity fund raising events and activities will allow them rebuild the new facilities at the Yumany Community School this autumn 2017.

When

A series of fund raising events are going to take place in June, July and August 2017 in the build up to the climb which will be on 9th September 2017 and at the return of the climbers in October and November 2017.
