A group of 4 of us are travelling to Tanzania in January 2017, to help two families living in extreme poverty, by renovating their homes, and we desperately need funds to complete the construction work.

Victor’s family -

Victor is a 12 year old boy who lives with his mother, sister and younger brother in an extremely underprivileged area of Arusha in Northern Tanzania.
Victor lives with Muscular Dystrophy and is now unable to walk and is generally confined to his bedroom. Sometimes Victor has access to a wheelchair,
given to him occasionally from a nearby school.
Victor’s family desperately need a new outdoor toilet and washroom outside their home.Their current one is a deep hole in the ground with a frame made of branches and covered in discarded plastic bags and covering.
I am also raising funds to plaster the outside of the family’s home.
Funds raised will go DIRECTLY towards the costs of building a new
outdoor toilet/washroom which will not only benefit Victor and his
family but also the nearby community who will also be able to use the facilities. Sponsorship for Victor to go to a school that would meet his requirements is also sought.

Joshua’s family -

Joshua is 11 years old and lives with his twin sisters, Breta and Brenda, and his parents in a small two room brick house in an impoverished area of Arusha. Some home improvements have already been undertaken with previous fundraising efforts - cementing and plastering floors and walls, placing a secure new door and buying beds for the children and the parents.
On this occasion, funds are required to build a new outdoor toilet/washroom for the family and also to plaster the outside of their home to protect the building from the elements. The current roof of the house is also in desperate need of repair, as it's mostly made up of rusted iron sheets, full of holes, which means the rain often leaks into the house.
