Story

I am looking to raise money in memory of my beautiful and amazing friend Diane Morrison who sadly at the age of 43 passed away on Saturday 20th April 2024. Diane has left behind her husband Tony and their 3 beautiful children Luke (7) and twins Jordan and Poppy (aged 2). I am looking to raise money to help support Tony and the children financially now that Diane is no longer with them and us.

Diane was the most beautiful soul and was loved by so many. She was a wife, mother, daughter and good friend to so many people. She would do anything for anyone even when she was going through all her treatments for oral cancer between 2017 and right up till she passed away. Diane and Tony would have celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary this year on 4th July which is something Diane was looking forward too as an important milestone in their lives.

In 2017 age 37, when her son Luke was only 9 months old, Diane was diagnosed with oral cancer. She battled hard through the cancer having received radiotherapy and chemotherapy whilst still working and caring for her son. Diane was asked on several occasions if she would like to freeze her eggs to have the chance at more children in the future but turned down this option at the time to concentrate on Luke and Tony. In February 2022, Diane and her husband Tony welcomed their miracle twins Jordan and Poppy into the world and making them a family of 5.

Diane received her 5 years all clear from the cancer in December 2022, which was fantastic news even going on to ring the bell with her miracle twins right by her side. Diane made the difficult decision to take a career break in April 2023 to look after the children and the home. She loved being a mum to her babies and this gave her the opportunity to spend more time with them.

Sadly, in July 2023, Diane received the devastating news that the cancer had reared its ugly head and would need an operation to remove the majority of her tongue and reconstruct a new one. She underwent a gruelling 14-hour operation and had to stay in Preston hospital for several weeks to aid her recovery. Part of this surgery meant that Diane was no longer able to speak as clearly as she had done but this did not stop her from communicating with everyone and updating people on her journey when she was able too. Diane then had radiotherapy and chemotherapy after the surgery to remove any visible signs of microscopic cells that remained after her operation. Her husband Tony by her side every step of the way supporting her through it all.

Diane recovered amazingly even shocking her surgeon and specialists at how well she was doing ahead of what they had expected. It was a long recovery but one that Diane took with dignity and was an absolute warrior through it all. 2 weeks ago, Diane attended a MRi scan which revealed that there was no longer any traces of cancer remaining and the operation and treatments had been a huge success. Diane clapped and cheered with excitement at this amazing news. Unfortunately, that excitement and good news was short lived when Diane passed away suddenly this last Saturday (20.04.24).

As you can imagine life will now be difficult for Tony and the 3 children and this is why I would like to raise as much money possible to ease the financial strain that they are now burdened with. Even just a small amount of money will be able to support them to live some sort of normal life during this very hard time.
