Story

Our lovely friend Rhian and I know each other because our children are best friends at nursery. Rhian is like us - we enjoy Prosecco, a gossip and we love getting dressed up and going to an event or two!!

On Thursday 7th December 2017 Rhian woke up and instantly felt unwell, so unwell she somehow knew she needed medical help and fast. She collapsed at home on the bedroom floor from an AVM (arteriovenous malformation) causing a hemorrhagic stroke, brain AVMs are rare and affect less than 1 percent of the population. What's even rarer is that Rhian was pregnant. Rhian was on the floor for 7.5 hours with Alfie still in his cot - something that I struggle to get my head round now. She must have been so scared and Alfie must have wondered what the hell was going on.

This was the start of a very long journey for Rhian. Today she is awake from a coma, laughing, smiling and trying to recover as quickly as possible.

The reason we are fundraising for Rhian is because their battle is just beginning. Rhian is unable to work and we thought that if I can do some fundraising to help them out in any tiny way then we shall! They will have to think about childcare, home adaptations and all sorts that we would never think about until something like this happens. Her hard working partner Jay has also got a long journey ahead of him with a three year old and a newborn baby at home!

If you can donate in any way to help this amazingly strong family we would appreciate it. I want to help them in any way we can so in advance we thank you and please know that your donation WILL make a difference.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
