Story
I have good friends who are asylum seekers in Glasgow. To protect their privacy and integrity I'm not posting their names or pictures here, but many of you who know me will have met them. They have had so many hard experiences before coming to the UK and due to extreme circumstances they had to flee to the UK while leaving their two oldest children with extended family in South Africa. Now they need help to support them as the time their asylum claim takes and family circumstances has made a bad situation even worse.
As some of you know I have used JustGiving once before, to get help with my partners funeral. That was an emergency and the help I got was amazing. This time it's not about me, not extremely urgent (but ongoing) and I am NOT asking people for large amounts of money. Rather, if you would be so inclined as to ever buy me a drink/coffee, send me a postcard or similar. I'd appreciate if you could spend those few pennies/pounds on this instead. No contribution is too small! Another option is to ask me to do something for you or your church/organisation
Examples: write an article, prayer, drama, creative session... come and teach some songs or do a workshop...visit the guild/youth group, write a spoof song for someone's birthday or challenge me to something else!! And in return contribute the cost of a cup of coffee or my bus fair to come and see you.
PS The sum aimed for is made up as that box can't be left empty.
In this time of forest fires and inhumane politics on so many levels I hope no one will feel the need to apologize for not being able to give. We all do what we can, in whatever way we can. This is my way. Thanks for reading this! 💙
