Story

This year I have been lucky enough to be shortlisted for Miss Durham. I am going to be doing some fundraising this Saturday (2nd of june), myself and a group of people will be doing a sponsored walk from Durham to Shildon, in fancy dress, to raise money for the charity JPC community farm, which is a charity that has been set up to provide supported accommodation for children and adults with various disabilities. Julie Connaughton and her husband have bought a farm in North Yorkshire to renovate and make it suitable for the supported accommodation. They came up with the idea as their son has cerebral palsy and they know how difficult it is to care 24/7 for someone, so by doing this is will not only help the individual themselves but also their family and friends.
