As part of my Midwifery degree I am travelling to Hue, Vietnam in August to experience midwifery care in a different culture setting. I am travelling through a company called Work the World who support their hospitals financially as well as donating medical equipment. It will be a life changing experience for me to support local midwives and observe how they overcome cultural challenges. This trip will enable me to explore my own midwifery skills and apply new found knowledge in order to improve my own practice within the NHS - Emma

In July I will be travelling to Malaysia with St Mary's RC High School. Through this experience I hope to gain cultural awareness and personally develop. The challenge of raising funds for the 14 day expedition, a community project whilst there (with Ace Lighthouse Academy which provides schooling for under privileged children) and trekking, will provide a wealth of experience and memories for me to draw on in years to come - Sophie
