Story

Recovery Operators risk their lives every day helping motorists in their time of need. Many workers have been killed or injured over the years whilst working on our motorways and major trunk roads. Smart motorways have made them even more vulnerable. The Recovery Industry Support Charity, RISC, are working with the Campaign for Safer Roadside Rescue and Recovery to lobby the Government to permit operators to use red flashing lights whilst stationary and in attendance at breakdowns in a dangerous location. It is proven that drivers pay more attention and slow down when red lights are seen compared with amber which are the only colour permitted at present. These workers need protection and any donation you can give will help with our work in achieving this change. Please help us to save lives.
