I've raised £500 to help The b12 Society deliver essential training to doctors on b12 deficiencies.

Since being diagnosed with a b12 deficency and doing my own research on the condition, it's become apparent that alot of doctors lack the knowledge and understanding of how severe this deficency can be. It can lead to irreversible nerve damage if not treated properly!
It is also misdiagnosed way to often as MS, Fibromyalgia and in some cases, dementia!!! How scary is that!
Deficiencies happen either due to being vegan/vegetarian as b12 is found in animal products, or it is due to a malabsorbtion issue.
For vegans/vegetarians, supplements are more than enough to keep levels up however if you have a malabsorbtion issue you won't absorb the tablets, leaving symptoms untreated. The only way to treat is with injections.
Throughout lockdown, surgeries have refused to do injections and without them i wouldn't have been able to function so resorted in self injection. I noticed a massive difference in my mood, brain function, energy and nerve damage with weekly injections. Since I've been back to 3 monthly with just surgery injection, my poor memory, low energy levels and nerve damage has returned.
I so wish doctors would learn more about vitamin deficiencies as they can be so debilitating at times and proper treatment is key! This is why I've decided to run the loch ness marathon to help raise money and awareness for the b12 society who are fighting for proper education, and making it free for doctors 🙌🙌🙌
Thanks for reading folks, any donation is greatly appreciated!
I'll also be running to raise awareness of Chiari Malformation which I've just recently been diagnosed with but i can't find a charity for them 🙈 if i do, I'll split the donations 😘
Things have been tough these last 5yrs trying to get answers for the way im feeling, but we're finally making some progress 🙌 and I've met some really understanding doctors along with way, so hopefully we can have more with this funding!
Much love
