Story

Hi, my name is Viktor, I'm 24 years old. In late 2014 I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer(osteosarcoma). It appeared in my left thigh and quickly grew to around the size of a tennis ball. In early 2015 I had limb salvage surgery to save my leg and had a knee replacement as the tumour had grown into my knee joint.

Througout 2015 I received chemotherapy, as well as a form of immunotherapy. I started my chemotherapy in December 2014 to try and reduce the size of the tumor before having the limb salvage operation and finished in November 2015.

Osteosarcoma is very aggressive, in most cases it spreads to the lungs and is fatal. In late 2016 an X-Ray showed that the cancer had spread to my left lung. I began more chemotherapy in December 2016. In April 2017 I had surgery to remove the cancer. After recovering from the surgery, a follow up scan revealed the cancer had spread to the right lung also. In February 2018 I had the cancer removed from my right lung.

After recovering from my last surgery I began to feel aches and pains in my left side, chest and back. A follow up X-Ray showed that the cancer is growing in my left lung again. I am having a CT scan in the next 3 weeks and another surgery to remove the cancer in the next month or two. I can't wait anymore as the cancer is uncomfotable and painful and is making it more and more difficult to breath. I have had all the treatment that I could get.

I have been researching CBD oil for over a year now and seeing a lot of anecdotal stories of people having success with it. Right now there is just over 10,000 full-text journal articles on cannabinoids on the online medical database PubMed. Around 3400 are on cannabinoids and cancer.

Last year a study came out documenting that Osteosarcoma cells have cannabinoid receptors, and in a petri dish cannabinoids can induce programmed cell death(apoptosis) in Osteosarcoma. The cannabinoids have also been shown to stop the cancer from spreading, growing into nearby tissue, and growing new blood vessels.

I feel like it will benefit my fight with bone cancer and increase my chances of surviving. Right now new treatments for Osteosarcoma are still in early clinical trial stages, and will take years before they are available on the NHS. Private treatment can cost tens, upto hundreds of thousands of pounds. I have not been able to work as a result of my illness and have been receiving benefits since I got ill. Unfortunately the price of high quality CBD oil is too high for me to be able to afford on a regular basis, especially the amount that is needed for cancer.

All I want is to be able to get back to normal life, to be able to wake up every day and not fear for my life and my future. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated, thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
