I've raised £500 to support the Braille Transcription Centre in Bangalore

On 10 September I will be running the Estonia marathon and raising funds for a cause that means a lot to me, and to someone dear, who was until recently a dedicated volunteer.
A third of the world's blind people live in India. Being blind or visually impaired is pretty tough stuff - imagine how much tougher it is in places with little governmental support or societal accessibility.
However, compassionate care from a dedicated community can be life changing. The Canara Society supports blind and partially sighted children in Bangalore, providing Braille transcription for textbooks and storybooks, and counselling and guidance. Staffed by amazing volunteers and visually impaired employees, every donated pound will support their mission to enable the blind to lead more normal lives. You can read more about what they do here. http://mathruchhaya.net/braille_trans_centre.php
Anything at all you can spare would be amazing. And it would mean a lot to someone who has donated time and compassion to this cause for years. A heartfelt thanks.
