I've raised £5000 to Help fund Violets Sensory support and continue her Son-Rise program

Lauire and 101 children of friends and family will be taking on the Nuclear Race on Sunday 16th September to help support their friend Violet.
This is a 3km course filled with around 15 obstacles. They will climb in & out of the muddiest ditches, scrabble under cargo nets, crawl tyre tunnels, over ramps, walls & monkey-bars as well as running in woods.
The Adult Team will be taking on the 5km course which has over 50 obstacles and will have to complete as many circuits of the course as possible.
Violet has Sensory Processing Disorder, a condition in which the brain has trouble receiving and responding to information which comes in through the senses. This means that simple everyday tasks such as walking along a street, looking at a book or being in a shop can result in a sensory overload which is extremely overwhelming and distressing for Violet. Needless to say life isnt easy for our little girl.
Violets progress over the last 5 years has been fantastic and we continued to see improvements in her communication and social interaction. Violet is now 10 and attends The Colombus School , a carefully selected special needs school in Chelmsford.
Violet is working under a specialist curriculum and her teachers have been pleased with her progress so far. It has been important for us to continue with The Son Rise Programme on the days that Violet doesn’t attend school and weekends, as the one on one interaction that it provides is a vital part of helping her with her daily challenges. The combination is working well.
Monies raised from this event will help fund an individual sensory plan with the help of a sensory specialist who will attend Violets school as well as at home.
Violet may not be able to tell you her name, write a sentence or read a book but she is loving, bright and determined little girl. We have lots of precious interactions and we see her laugh and smile, her happiness and well-being is most important to us. Thank you for your support
