    Virgin Atlantic Pilots V Cabin Crew Football Match

    Friday 22nd October, Horsham FC, Kick Off 7:30pm, doors open 6pm

    Free event

    We are fundraising for two important causes: For the charity MIND and for a more personal cause, the cancer treatment of a Crew member.

    WE HAVE Already fundraised an incredible £15,000, and rising, and now we would like to make it over £20,000. Help us raise another £5,000 before our charity match on October 22nd.

    FOR STEVEN;

    In May 2020 Virgin Atlantic Cabin Crew Steven Reid was diagnosed with Liver Cancer. The only treatment available is targeted therapy tablets called Lenvatinib. Targeted therapy aims to slow down the progression of the tumour and keep the cancer primary to the liver. Steven responded well to this treatment and it has so far kept his cancer stable and primary to the Liver.

    While the NHS explore further treatment options, there currently aren’t any other treatment options available on the NHS and so any future treatment options will need to be funded privately by Steven.

    Funding treatment will give Steven hope of prolonging his life.

    Steven and his partner Craig Goodwin (also Cabin Crew for Virgin) want to thank you all from the bottom of their hearts for bringing this charity event to life and raising funds to support Steven going forward.

    Craig will be coming out of retirement for the match, and Steven will be cheering on from the stands.

    FOR MENTAL HEALTH

    Prioritising mental health has never been more important than it is now.

    This year has been the toughest yet in Virgin Atlantic’s history which has impacted our people greatly. Add to that the months of lockdown, furlough and of course anxiety over our health and the future.

    MIND supports better mental health awareness and crucially helps get the right support for many in need.

    Our football match is an initiative inspired by Mind charity's #DoOneThing. We hope for a day of fun and unity that will bring us all together to have fun and do good.

    we'd love to see you there,

    Kyle, Lee & Chris
