Will you?
The "new church" of St Mary's was consecrated in 1544 in the heart of the beautiful, historic and wild countryside surrounding Pendle. It was an act of faith during a time of great religious and social upheaval. The church has served the spiritual needs of the local villagers ever since and is now recognised as a Grade II* listed building.
Every generation has contributed to both the growth and upkeep of the church, and now it's our turn. We hope to continue as a focal point for the community and a meeting place for all but running costs are increasing as we type.
Plans show how the church will be more flexible and welcoming as a centre for our community. The new layout of church will provide the ability to serve refreshments and hold social events, enhancing the traditional atmosphere of the church.
Please will you help with a donation? Any amount, no matter how large or small, will help us towards our target and a church building, fand community hub for Newchurch in the the 21st Century.
