Story
There is an ancient Sundial in the Remembrance Garden of Prescot Parish Church which has been there since 1730. Sadly, the baseplate and gnomon has been stolen recently, together with york stone paving flags around the area. The baseplate bears the names of the Vicar at the time, Augustus Gwynne, and the names of his churchwardens.
Whilst we are endeavouring to get the baseplate & gnomon back, we are planning to replace it at some time in the future, with something which won't be as appealing to thieves.
Any money received will be used towards this, and if there should be any extra, will be used to make more improvements.
The Friends of Prescot Cemetery & Churchyard will continue our work to make the place better for our loved ones.
Thank you for listening to our story and thank you for your donation.
