Story
My name is Vlada Liashko.
My two children and I entered the UK in Apr-22 and lived with a family in Buckingham from May-22. We now live in local independent private rented accommodation near the University.
In Ukraine, I am a fully qualified dentist and before the war, I worked full-time in private practice for 6 years. Ultimately, my goal is to practice as a dentist in the UK.
To work in the UK, dentists, hygienists, technicians, and dental nurses must register and qualify through the General Dental Council (GDC). My route to become a full-time dentist is to first qualify as a dental nurse. I have taken and passed the ILETS (International English Language Testing System) exam to demonstrate my grasp of English. Unfortunately, there is at least a 3-year waiting list to take the ORE (Overseas Registration Exam) to be authorised to practice in the UK. As a result, I wish to apply for and take the GDC’s dental nurse qualification. The course costs £1,000 and the exam £500.
Currently, I work as a part-time trainee dental nurse in a specialist dental practice in Bletchley. I wish to remain in the UK and I’m committed to the local area. My sister lives in Milton Keynes and my children are at Bourton Meadow School, Buckingham where they are both settled and making good progress.
My employer has agreed to sponsor me for a Work Visa should HM Government not extend the current 3-year Visa or war ends before my Visa runs out.
I would be most grateful if you would consider donating to help fund my dental nurse application, so I can continue to practice in the UK.
Many thanks and regards.
