Weʼre raising £6,200 to help me volunteer in Malaysia.

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

Hi, my name is Shehroze Akhtar and I am 17 years old. I have decided to take a gap year after I finish college and dedicate the year to helping students in Malaysia. I am currently on the verge of finishing my first year at Sixth Form and I plan to start volunteering when i finish my second year of college. For 12 months, starting from September 2019, I intend to teach English (TESOL) to younger students and help them improve and build confidence in the language.

I will be representing a charity called Project Trust. The educational charity have been sending youths, specifically aged 17-19 to places all around the world, where they will volunteer and help those who live in developing countries. Project Trust will be sending me to Malaysia where I will be teaching in a school.

I will need to raise a total of £6200 before i go. This money will cover my Flights, Medical & Travel Insurance, Food and Accommodation. I will need to raise this amount by July 2019 in order for the arrangements to be made before I go.

Alongside this page, I will be organising many small and large events to help cover the costs. All donations will be appreciated and I am grateful for all help and support.

Thank You.
