I've raised £2000 to help Kenya's most unfortunate

Volunteer Kenya was established in 2009 by Lauren and Ross Sundercombe to help provide better education facilities and resources to some of Kenya's most disadvantaged children and deprived communities. Every year, students and staff visit Rongai in Kenya to undertake volunteer work which helps the Rongai community in enterprise, education, childcare, health and sporting activities.
I am an A-Level student and will be taking part in this year's trip.
Whilst in Kenya, we will be focussing on:
- further development of the nursery, working with nursery children and staff
- working with schools on health, sport, enterprise and teacher training
- new opportunities will arise in land-based agriculture, horticulture and construction
The total cost of the trip itself is £2000. It is an amazing opportunity and has an incredible impact on the community of Rongai every year.
As well as raising money for a charity which Volunteer Kenya greatly supports, the Vanessa Grant Trust, I will also be raising money which will be used to purchase donations for the children, such as stationary, toiletries, etc.
I will be completing a sponsored shoot at my local club, St Austell Bay Archers. The aim is to score 1000 points over a maximum of five sessions. The money raised will help to fund the trip and will also go towards the purchase of donations for the children in Kenya.
Thank you.
