Story

Through a brand new initiative by the Paddington Waterways and Maida Vale Society, 5,000 protective masks and counting have been provided to the staff at St Mary's Hospital.

The masks are machine-sewn by local residents in a team called "W9W2 Sewing Group." The group has provided badly needed relief to the hospital and also given a wonderful sense of purpose and unity to the Westminster community. We are making 1000 masks per week, and the materials are purchased with local donations and Council Funding. In order to continue this venture, as well as broaden our mask distribution to local Care Homes, Youth Groups, and people in need in our community, we are now appealing to the community for donations. It costs £200 to make 1000 Masks, for every pound you donate, you can equip five (at risk) community members with invaluable protection. EVERY DONATION COUNTS.
