I've raised £5000 to help repair a taxi driver's vehicle following England celebrations in the city, as well as consequential losses.

Story

Following England's magnificent victory in the World Cup quarter finals, many fans justifiably took to the streets to celebrate. Unfortunately, there invariably tends to be a small minority that take it a bit too far, which resulted in the juvenile actions of one individual causing significant damage to the vehicle belonging to a local taxi driver, with others appearing to either idly stand by and/or encourage the disgusting behaviour.

This ultimately comes at a substantial cost to the victim, both in terms of carrying out necessary repairs to the vehicle, but also lost income during the time in takes for the car to be deemed roadworthy again. This also would have undoubtedly caused a great deal of distress to the individual concerned, as well as his family.

As a community, we feel it is our duty to express our solidarity, and help in whatever way we can to assist in getting this gentleman back on the road, and to restore some faith that most football fans just want to have a good time, and vehenentally oppose such abhorrent behaviour.

Please donate as generously as you can, as I'm sure the gentleman would greatly appreciate any contributions, small or large.
