Story

There are just over 10,000 people with Cystic Fibrosis in the UK. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetically inherited disease, usually diagnosed around birth and its symptoms cause life long limitations. The inherited genome causes the body to uncontrollably produce thick mucus, primarily affecting the lungs but it can also have other damaging affects on the digestive system. Individuals with CF live with this invisible illness under the strict management of dozens of pills and treatments every day; this is why it is categorised as a "life limiting" illness.

We are a team of 22 individuals each with our own personal dealings with CF who have committed ourselves to walking 10,000 steps every day in the month of June, to commemorate the efforts these individuals go through. Though some of us may struggle, we are lucky enough to have this choice and it is nothing compared to the daily struggle individuals with CF endure.

All funds from this account will be split evenly between The Cystic Fibrosis Trust and The Leanne Fund (2 Cystic Fibrosis charities).
