Story
I have had the good fortune to be able to work as part of a team running the Overseas Charity for the Parish of Christ the Prince of Peace in Weybridge (UK). The Charity is called Project Kimbo and is aimed at building the facilities and providing other support to enable the Christian community in Kimbo - a regional town southwest of Kampala in Uganda – to thrive. Importantly we have a focus on educating the children of the area – and especially girls.
The charity - which was set up last year – has already made great strides. Through the incredible generosity of parishioners and the work of an amazing team on the ground in Kimbo we have already rebuilt the church – which was badly in need of replacement. As we move to the next stages of the project our focus will turn to supporting the local school and making facitliites available for a nursery.
To help raise fund for our future work I have decided to try to walk 100km during Lent and would like to ask for your sponsorship. Any amount is welcome and will be put to good use to help us support giving the children of Kimbo a better chance to get a head start in their education and on the path to achieve their potential !
