Story

Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital treats, rehabilitates and responsibly releases injured wildlife casualties and orphans. The charity's mission is to establish hospitals for wild birds and animals that have suffered injury and need care and treatment, with the aim to enable them to return to, and live a normal life, in their natural habitats.

In an attempt to raise funds for this cause, this December I will be braving the winter cold and "Walking to Work for Wildlife". Commencing in Fareham, I plan to walk the 17.6 mile journey to work, litter picker in hand, from home to Southern Co-operative, Delling Lane Store in Bosham. At an estimated 6 hour journey time, I will navigate between 5 other Co-operative food stores, depositing all collected public waste to be sent back to the appropriate refuse and recycling facilities.

Brent Lodge Hospital provides care for over 3500 wildlife patients each year and receives no government funding to do so, depending entirely upon the generosity of supporters, donors, fund-raising activities, partnership with businesses, and grant applications.

All funds raised will go towards meeting Hospital running costs and to delivering the ambitions for improving their wildlife welfare facilities. Want to do your own bit to help raise funds?
